The webinar provides insights into practical strategies for reducing environmental impact, strengthening community engagement, and promoting long-term sustainable development.

      About the Speakers:

      Ronald Kaboye is a professional environmental and conservation scientist. He holds a Master of Science in Climate Change and Development from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Research and Development. He co-founded Municipal Alliance for Better and Smart Cities in 2018 and established Human Nature Projects Uganda 2019 as its Director. He implements integrated smart agriculture and forest garden projects in schools and institutions, food forest projects in urban communities, and Nature-Based Solutions with SMART practices in institutions by students. During the webinar, Ronald will present some lighthouse projects from Uganda showcasing local food systems, eco-villages, and green building.

      Komla M. Avono is a Fulbright Scholar and Professor of American Studies at the University of Lomé, Togo. His work bridges literature, environmental education, and sustainable development. As a partner of the Edible Cities Network he launched a campus-wide greening project that planted four hectares of fruit trees and inspired environmental education initiatives across Lomé. He is interested in the interplay of humanities, climate action, and African development and continues to promote interdisciplinary approaches for sustainable futures in West African francophone universities. Komla will present insights from concrete greening and environmental education initiatives in Lomé.
