BiodiWert

Biodiversity Valuing & Valuation

BioVal develops solutions to reduce the negative impact of food on biodiversity along the product life cycle. Together with companies, the project investigates how they can contribute to the promotion of biodiversity along the product life cycle and how this can be anchored in management and communicated. Measures are developed and tested for this purpose. The main results of BioVal are recommendations for increasing biodiversity along food product life cycles as well as solutions for companies to integrate biodiversity into management systems and tools and into business-to-business and business-to-consumer communication that have been tried and tested in living laboratories. In addition, the further development of the impact assessment method for terrestrial biodiversity in the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the development of a new method for the impact assessment of marine biodiversity will provide input into the international discussion on methods. The project is carried out by the Bochum University of Applied Sciences, the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) at the Technical University of Berlin, FRoSTA AG, Alfred Ritter GmbH & Co. KG and Seeberger GmbH.
