Achtung Artenvielfalt!

Since 2021, FEdA has been raising awareness for biodiversity every October with its nationwide campaign week “Achtung Artenvielfat!”

Every year, the Research Initiative for Biodiversity Conservation (FEdA) calls on its cooperation partners to organise events focusing on biodiversity. Museums, associations, research institutions, NGOs, organisations and other committed parties offer exciting events both online and offline throughout Germany.

Info evenings or hands-on activities, special tours, discussion groups, guided tours, Instagram challenges, podcasts, documentary evenings – together with organisations, partners and committed individuals, the ‘Attention Biodiversity!’ action week can bring the problem of drastic species extinction, but also possible solutions, to the attention of the public.

FEdA launched the 2021 action week because we are convinced that we can halt and even reverse biodiversity loss as a society. But to do so, this crisis and possible strategies to stop it must become even more firmly embedded in social, economic and political consciousness. An action week brings together activities and draws attention to the issue.

Thanks to the support of our cooperation partners, the organisers and many prominent personalities, the action week has been growing ever since. We would like to thank the German Natural Science Research Collections Association (DNFS) and the Leibniz Natural History Museums – the Museum of Natural History in Berlin, the Senckenberg Museums in Frankfurt/Main, Görlitz and Dresden, the Leibniz Institute for Biodiversity Change Analysis in Bonn and Hamburg, and the Joint Sustainability Initiative. Above all, however, we would like to thank the organisers who bring “Achtung Artenvielfalt!” to life.
